Bambi

Over the weekend, I spotted a mom and fawn in the tall grasses near the house.  I wasn't quick enough to get any shots.

This morning, they were back.

Moving toward independence

Occasionally one makes great strides in moving toward that blissful state of "on my own and in control of the universe".

This morning as Sora awoke she came in to say hi, I asked if she was hungry?

"Noope, going to play."

So I took an extra minute or two before getting up to head towards her for the morning routine.  As I made it to the kitchen I noticed the door to the garage open ... So I went into the garage and she had opened the side door, taken the step stool around to the keypad to try to open the garage door.

"What are you doing?

Goeeng to open door garage, goeeeng ride bike mine

Ah, well next time you want to go outside, you have to tell mommy or daddy.

Mommee at work ..."

So I let her have the last word for the moment.

A bit later in the morning she decided it was time to ride, so she grabbed her bike and took off.  This was day 01 of not asking someone else for help.  I got a video taken, link below.

It has been a while.

We have settled into our new place in CO, and are busy playing. For example, we were able to play at a park that was East of the Air Force Academy stadium during this year's graduation.  As it was a nice day, the Air Force Thunderbirds did a mini demonstration and I was able to get a few decent photos.

Our place in CO has a nice area in back to play.  We also have a drainage area behind us that is effectively a small wildlife area; mule deer, turkeys, rabbits, etc. all use the space.  This spring a small rabbit has decided to relocate to our current wood pile.  Stone was inspecting it closely.
